The PTO is making an impact

There’s been a lot happening with the PTO during the first Trimester.  We’ve filed with the state and IRS as a 501(C)3 charitable organization, and once our application is accepted we’ll be able to make an even greater impact in our school.

The PTO assisted with a hurricane Harvey relief drive.  Donations were sent to help with basic necessities like school uniforms and notebooks.  Team Inc. from Cambridge helped with shipping to make sure community donations reached the students in Texas.

The PTO is proud to announce the approval of a funding initiative to support the purchase of pop-sockets for the PBIS program.  PBIS is a program that encourages and rewards positive behavior in students.  Pop-sockets will be printed with the CI logo and should be available as a reward in the mid-January timeframe.

Concessions for winter sports are in full swing and adult volunteers are needed to help.  If you have a student or grandchild in winter sports, helping with concessions is a great way to show support.  There’s a simple sign-up form on our website homepage or you can simply ask the next time you’re at a game.  New volunteers are partnered with an experienced parent to ensure a positive and successful experience.  If you do not have time to volunteer, donations are also helpful to keep operating costs low.  We can always use small bottles of Gatorade (any flavor), 16.9oz. water bottles, full-sized candy bars, cookie packs, skittles, individual bags of chips, or similar non-perishable food items.
